Who, What, Why? FGI Grant Program
August 04, 2026
Did you know Foothills Gateway is a catalyst to provide much needed funding to community organizations in Larimer County? The needs being met with these funds are vast and cover a wide variety of categories including access to social, vocational/employment, and recreational opportunities, behavioral and mental health services, medical and dental services, capital projects, and more services that are not available through a Medicaid Waiver, Medicaid State Plan, or State General Funds.
Annually, during the budgeting process, Foothills Gateway, Inc., designates, as practicable, a specific amount of money from Mill Levy funds to be used to grant funds to community organizations.
Nonprofit community organizations and PASAs (program approved service agencies) who operate in and serve Larimer County residents, and meet a few additional requirements, are eligible to apply for this grant funding. The funding must be used solely for the benefit of individuals who have been determined eligible for IDD services and who receive case management services through Foothills Gateway, Inc. and reside in Larimer County.
The maximum amount that can be allocated for an approved project is $50,000 per fiscal year. Requests are considered on a case-by-case basis as funding allows. FGI’s grant program is now accepting applications for funding from 7/1/26 through 6/30/2027.
Getting to see the impact this funding has on organizations and the individuals they serve is something special. Last year, Elderhaus Adult Day Program received a grant from FGI to improve their outdoor spaces (pictured to the left). An improvement as simple as adding an accessible sidewalk to their emergency exit greatly increased their facility’s safety and accessibility. They were also able to create two paved outdoor patio spaces, a sport court, a mini golf area for their day program participants, along with a few more improvements.
