Give Next is a school-based youth grantmaking program for middle and high school students in Larimer County. This program is made possible through the support of the Bohemian Foundation and the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado.

This is a year-long program for the students. All the students in this program are enrolled in a Give Next class at their school. The students got to meet the nonprofits of our community in early October during the Give Next Kickoff Day. During this event, nonprofits from all over Larimer County came together to teach the students about what we do. This is where the students got to meet the Foothills Gateway’s Community Relations team, learn about what we do and who we support. After this fun, full day of visiting the nonprofit’s tables, the students go back to their class and discuss which nonprofit aligns with their school’s mission.

We are excited to announce the students of Riverview PK-8 School in Johnstown awarded Foothills Gateway $1,500. They loved the work we do for Larimer County and saw that our mission aligned with their class mission statement.

The students’ mission is to help residents of Larimer County that have disabilities. The organizations they chose will help students, children, adults and veterans that face challenges due to a disability.

The Riverview students picked this mission and saw that our organization aligns with what they are trying to accomplish for their community. We are so grateful the students understand the importance of the work with do for folks with disabilities and their support systems.

In May, Riverview invited FGI’s Community Relations Team to come to their grant awards ceremony. This charismatic group of students were excellent hosts! They are all very kind, smart, and had the best questions (they even ordered over 400 McNuggets for the ceremony!). We can’t wait to see where these students go!
