BI Waiver

Persons with Brain Injury Waiver (BI)

Ages 16 and older

Allows youth (16 and older) and adults with a brain injury to receive home and community-based care as an alternative to care in a hospital or nursing facility setting. 

 

 

Qualifying for BI Medicaid Waiver services

  • Must be 16 years old or older
  • Require long-term services similar to what would be received in a hospital or specialized nursing facility for persons with a brain injury
  • Have a brain injury which occurred before your 65th birthday
  • Meet financial determination requirements as outlined in the Colorado Code of Regulations and as determined by your local Department of Human Services (DHS)
