Another Successful Flying Pig 5K!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 17th Annual Flying Pig 5K on April 26, 2026! Although it was a crisp spring morning, we had a great turnout with 214 registrants, 25 sponsors and we raised nearly $17,000! This event is more than *just* a 5K. This is a community event to bring us together to raise vital funds to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Larimer County.

We are so grateful for the racers of all ages and abilities who joined us to run, walk, and roll to support Foothills Gateway. It was awesome to see all of the young racers who showed their support by participating in the Piglet Race for oink-tastic prizes. The funds from the Flying Pig 5K support children’s programs at Foothills Gateway, including the Family Support Services Program (FSSP). The need for fundraisers like this is great and directly impacts the lives of thousands of individuals and their families.

See the direct impact:

$50 can fund a reading tutor session for a child.
$100 can provide a child with a durable pair of eyeglasses.
$250 can ensure horseback riding therapy that improves motor skills.
$1,000 can help a family purchase a special needs car seat.
$5,000 can cover costs for 3 kids and their families to attend a life-changing disability camp.

This year we added a fun new twist to showcase our supporters as the heroes they are to the IDD Community! The first 100 racers were given a superhero cape to run with. Seeing the racers take off with their capes blowing in the wind was a strong visual to remind us of the power behind gathering as a community to support our neighbors.

We would like to share a huge thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make the 17th Annual Flying Pig 5K possible! From set up, serving treats, running registration, guiding racers through the course and greeting racers with a friendly smile, we could not have done it without you!
