Family Services

Services for families are focused on maintaining family balance and helping to alleviate some of the stress that can impact the family unit.

  • Family Support Services Program (FSSP) 
    The Family Support Services Program (FSSP) provides information, support, coordination and funding to families that have one or more family member of any age with a cognitive/developmental disability living in the family home. Examples of services that could be covered include: respite, adaptive equipment and home modification.
  • HUD Administration 
    Foothills Gateway administers a Section 8 Subsidy (HUD) program which enables participants to afford community housing by subsidizing their rent with federal funds. This program is open to all individuals eligible for service through Foothills Gateway. A family or individual must be renting a unit and be within the Larimer County published income limits. Subsidies are provided at all levels of services and supports for individuals (apartments, host homes, family homes, etc.)
  • Respite Services 
    Respite Care Inc. serves families throughout Larimer County who have children between the ages of birth and 21 years old, all faced with some type of developmental disability.
    Adult Respite Care: This Foothills Gateway program provides short term relief from daily care giving responsibilities in a home-like setting for individuals age 18 and older. Adult Care Services (ACS) is open for respite services and care 24 hours a day, seven days a week (closed for some holidays). Families can schedule a short period of time within one day or up to 14 days. Day program is also available at ACS, Monday through Friday, 9am – 3pm for those eligible under the Elderly, Blind and Disabled Waiver. Activities are provided on site and in the community. Staff support and encourage learning and increasing living, socialization and communication skills. Individuals on the waiting list, in EBD, in Supported Living Services or private pay funds can receive this service.
