Services for Children
These services are available for children meeting various eligibility requirements based
on the program’s requirements. A case manager can help determine if your family member
meets the various eligibility criteria and answer any questions you may have about these programs.
Larimer County Early Intervention Colorado
Larimer County Early Intervention Colorado
and Foothills Gateway coordinate a variety of funding sources for services
available for children with cognitive/developmental disabilities or
developmental delays and their families. This program connects families with
early intervention services such as: occupational, speech or physical therapy to
help infants and toddlers grow and develop and help their families in this
process. This program serves children 0-3 years and their families.
Family Support Services Program (FSSP)
The Family Support Services Program provides information, support, coordination
and funding to families that have one or more family member of any age with a
cognitive/developmental disability living in the family home. Examples of services that
could be covered include: respite, adaptive equipment and home modification.
Children's Extensive Supports (CES)
The Children’s Extensive Waiver program provides Medicaid funded services and supports
to children with cognitive/developmental disabilities or developmental delays who have the
most intensive behavioral and/or medical needs. In addition to the Sate Medicaid health
coverage, other services and supports that may be available include: personal assistance
services, professional services, behavioral services and home modifications. This program
if for children 0- 18 years old.
Home and Community Based Services (HCBS)
Home and Community Based Services, for children 0-18, make a child eligible for
Medicaid based on their medical needs, not family income. Children receive State
Medicaid health care coverage and case management services. Children do not have
to have a cognitive/developmental disability diagnosis to be eligible for this
program.
Autism Waiver
The Autism Waiver is for children age 0-6 who are eligible for Medicaid and have a medical
diagnosis of Autism. The child can receive behavioral therapy for three years or until the
child’s 6th birthday.
